Town House Shopping Center, which is owned and operated by Town House, Inc., is located at a prime location along Beach Road, right in the heart of Chalan Kanoa, fronting the Mt. Carmel Cathedral.  Originally opened in the 1960’s as Town House Department Store, this has long been a favorite shopping destination for several generations of Saipan residents.  It was one of the very first stores on island that offered a complete line of consumer goods including a fully-stocked Grocery and Meat Department.  Later, a Motor Mart featuring Willys Jeep and the Colt 1000 was also erected right next to the Town House retail market.   In 1970, because of the strong support from the local communit,y Mr. Ken Jones, Jr., founder of Jones and Guerrero Company, Inc., expanded his retail  operations in Chalan Kanoa by constructing what is now Town House Shopping Center. Along with this expansion, Mr. Jones also diversified his business ventures by introducing Colonel Sander’s Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise to Saipan in 1976.  Between 1990 to 1997, other commercial properties were added to the portfolio including the Louis Vuitton / Comete Building in Garapan, the 2-storey J & G Building in Chalan Kanoa,  and the Aquarius Beach Hotel.  All were constructed by Town House, Inc under the supervision of J&G Construction’s GM Mr. Manny Cunanan.  In adopting the motto “Think Outside the Bun”, Marianas Fast Food, Inc., the current operator of the newly renovated KFC Restaurant and which is also a Town House, Inc. subsidiary, has brought the much- awaited Taco Bell franchise to Saipan in December 2007.

After almost 6 decades since Mr. Jones has started his entrepreneurial ventures to cater to the needs of the local community, Town House Shopping Center remains a center point for a day of shopping and dining for Saipan residents.  Through the years The Town House Department store has been sold and Henry Sy became an ownership partner in the Shopping Center.  The Shopping Center’s tenant mix includes a department store, supermarket, a local bank, coin-operated game room, and the KFC/Taco Bell Restaurant.

Ms. Imelda Valiente, Town House is in-charge of overseeing the day to day operations of the Town House Shopping Center and the KFC/Taco Bell Restaurant.  She is an alumni of the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines and a CPA .  After almost half a decade working at the Accounting and Treasury Department of Mr. Henry Sy’s SM Megamall, Ms. Valiente found a new home away from home in Saipan.  After briefly working for L & T Group of Companies, she joined Town House, Inc. in 1988.
